Caviar's story to be captured

TVN and Racing Victoria will document Black Caviar's UK journey for future generations to enjoy. The CEO of TVN Peter Sweeney today announced an arrangement between the connections of Black Caviar, TVN and Racing Victoria, which will ensure that the entire visual and audio history of her UK quest will be documented forever.

This exclusive commercial arrangement is intended to capture and record the historic career of Black Caviar here in Australia and across the globe, including normally unseen ‘inner sanctum' coverage, for the purpose of promoting general interest in Australian thoroughbred racing and Black Caviar.

This arrangement will provide a single source of audio visual coverage of Black Caviar, ensuring coverage of the highest standard and quality is maintained and to sensibly protect the privacy of Black Caviar's connections and, most importantly, the safety and well-being of Black Caviar.

The agreement is specifically focused on capturing moments from ‘behind the scenes'. It is not TVN or Racing Victoria's intention to limit in any way general media or exposure of the horse to the racing industry and broader community, which we are strongly committed to.
TVN CEO Peter Sweeney said, “As the thoroughbred racing industry's own media channel, a key role of TVN is to secure and protect racing's greatest moments. Black Caviar's journey to Royal Ascot and beyond is an exciting time for racing and TVN on behalf of the industry, is delighted to be part of the journey.”

Racing Victoria CEO Rob Hines said, “Racing Victoria is determined to ensure that generations of people, for years to come, better appreciate the extraordinary feats of our great racing champions. We are pleased to support TVN in this innovative gesture”.

Gary Wilkie on behalf of Team Black Caviar, including all the owners, trainer Peter Moody and jockey Luke Nolen, stated,

“Black Caviar is the people's horse, she belongs to the nation, and we are very fortunate to be associated with her.

“With her unbeaten record and first trip to take on the world at Royal Ascot we are committed to ensuring her program is captured for all and recorded for the history of racing. We feel a great sense of excitement and national pride.

“We want to share this with all Australians and at the same time enjoy our journey ahead, and ensure Peter and Luke have the best opportunity to continue their exceptional work whilst overseas. We are all very committed to her ongoing success.”
