Built in the early 60’s, Sandown’s Motor Circuit has long stood as the premium care racing circuit in Melbourne. Names such as Moss, Brabham, Brock, Skaife and Richards all having competed round the fast and famous circuit.

Home to the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge V8 Supercar event in mid November each year, the motor circuit is one of the very few permanent circuits left anywhere in the world located right in the middle of a large metropolitan city.

The Melbourne Racing Club brought the management of motorsport in-house in late 2006. As part of the changes a long term contract was signed in 2010 with V8 Supercars for ten years, along with a major upgrade to the Pit Garagae area and motor circuit safety. These capital works are currently half way through completion.
