Members' Race Day Information
MEMBERS’ DRESS CODE
All Members and guests must adhere to the following dress code to be admitted to the Members’ Reserve.
GENTLEMEN
Gentlemen and boys over 13 years of age are required to wear a suit, sports coat or blazer plus tie at all times. However, from the 1st November until Easter Cup Day, Saturday, 11th April, jackets may be removed.
Not Acceptable
• Pullovers and cardigans (as outer wear)
• Parkas, duffle coats, zippered jackets, leather/casual jackets
• Shirts without a collar
• Shorts
• Denim and denim-look clothing
• Running/sports shoes, thongs or any dilapidated footwear
LADIES
Ladies and girls over 13 years of age are expected to maintain a suitable standard of dress in keeping with the standard of the Members’ Reserve.
Not Acceptable
• Parkas, duffle coats, zippered jackets, leather/casual jackets
• Any clothing revealing bare midriff
• Shorts
• Denim/denim-look jackets, tops and jeans
• Running/sports shoes, thongs or any dilapidated footwear
CHILDREN
Children under 13 years of age should be neatly dressed in keeping with the standards of dress expected from Members and their guests.
BETFAIR PARK MEMBERS ’ RESERVE DRESS CODE
The Betfair Park Members’ Reserve Dress code has been relaxed for all meetings with the exception of the Sandown Classic Day. The above dress code and unacceptable items apply with the exception that a tie and jacket is optional. Gentlemen must wear a tucked in collared shirt and tailored trousers. Ladies are required to maintain a suitable standard of dress.
RACECOURSE ENTRY
All cards must be scanned at the turnstiles upon entry and exit at Caulfield and Betfair Park Racecourses and Members’ Reserve. The Melbourne Racing Club policy does not allow for refund of purchase of general admission cost should a Member leave their Membership Card at home. Members are advised to contact the Club prior to attending the race meeting should they not have their Membership Card and alternative ticketing can be arranged. The racecourse and car parks generally open from 10 30am on race days.
RACE DAY OFFICE
The Race Day Office provides Members, guests and race horse owners an area to purchase and collect all ticketing for the race day. Members are advised to visit the Race Day Office to speak to a Membership Representative, purchase Daily Members’ Reserve Guest Passes, to collect replacement ticketing and to redeem further Membership benefits.
MEMBERS WITH A HORSE RUNNING ON A RACE DAY
Members with a horse running who are listed as owners in the race book should visit the Race Day Office on the race day to arrange ticketing. Syndicate Managers are requested to collect all relevant ticketing on behalf of the Syndicate and can contact the Race Day Coordinator in the Racing Department on 1300 GO RACE (46 7223) prior to the race day with any queries.
FORGOTTEN CARDS ON RACE DAY
Should you forget your Membership Card on a race day, you will be required to pay racecourse admission and present yourself to the Race Day Office, where on presentation of appropriate identification, a temporary Daily Members’ Reserve Guest Pass will be issued Racecourse admission will not be refunded.
FAULTY CARD/S NOT SCANNING
Should you experience any problems with your Membership or Annual Guest Cards admitting you to the racecourse or Members’ Reserve, please proceed to the Race Day Office where the matter will be addressed by a Membership Representative .
