Employment Opportunities

The Melbourne Racing Club is a diverse organisation employing approximately 1,400 staff on a full-time, part-time and casual basis to cover our operations at Caulfield and Sandown Racecourses.

Staff numbers peak during the Spring Carnival, when approximately 700 additional employees are required on a temporary basis.

What type of employment opportunities exist at the Melbourne Racing Club?

Office/Administration

The Melbourne Racing Club administration office employs approximately 80 full-time and part-time administration and executive staff. Departments include Racing, Marketing, Sponsorship, Membership, Finance and Human Resources.

Groundstaff and Tradespeople

Typical roles at both Racecourses include groundspeople, drivers, gardeners, mechanics, plumbers, painters, carpenters and welders.

Hospitality

With our own Catering department for racedays and private functions, and both Caulfield Racecourse Tabaret and Highways Tabaret at Sandown – the Melbourne Racing Club provides regular opportunities for hospitality workers.

Roles are numerous and include: chefs, kitchen hands, food and beverage attendants, gaming attendants and supervisors, TAB attendants and security staff.

Raceday Customer Service Staff

Up to 400 casual staff work at both Caulfield and Sandown on racedays in customer service roles such as ticket selling, directing traffic and providing information.
