From its establishment in 1875 as the Victoria Amateur Turf Club, the Melbourne Racing Club has evolved through time to become an integral part of the Victorian Racing Industry. Today, the Melbourne Racing Club conducts 60 race days annually at its two racing centres – Caulfield Racecourse and Betfair Park (Sandown) – in addition to operating a diverse network of non-racing business activities which support its thoroughbred racing activities.
